This is Vans standard ELT or Whelen mounting plate kit. It is a great time save, very economical, fits nicely between the “J” stringers and was easy to install. I cleaned the edges of the plate up, buffed the edges with a light Scotch-Brite wheel and primed. There are four nutplates required to hold the Whelen power supply and then it was just a matter of drilling holes into the “J”stringers. One word of caution, you have to use pop rivets and you must do the bottom ones from behind the plate first. There is not enough room to use the pop rivet gun from the bottom of the plane up. After you set the bottom rivets, just set 4 or 5 pops in the top flange into the top stringer and that’s it.
