Brief Description: Rudder cable and elevator contol hook up
This afternoon I wanted to get the rudder and elevator controls installed and working. It is really neat to have the controls in place and working because it is the first operational thing in the plane that I could play with and make airplane noises. The controls are very smooth and feel balanced. I decided to turn bushing on the lathe instead of using washers for spacers in the elevator horn but since there is not a lot of room to work it took a few iterations to get them the right thickness. It will be easier to install and remove them in the future using spacers and it just seems like a better solution than 3-4 washers on either side of the elevator center bearing. I also made spacers for the bottom of the horn where the push tube attaches. I still need to paint the tubes and will get to that as soon as we get some warm days.
