Today I had many things to do besides the plane, but I wanted to get something done, so I decided on the firewall recess. This requires the rudder pedal brace being installed first. The recess must also be sealed with ProSeal, and then riveted in place. I still need to ProSeal the corners, but the batch hardened too quickly in the heat to do it all in one step. I will fill those in when I seal other firewall penetrations. I had difficultly with the riveting, I think because of the dimpled angle allows too much room at first and it is easy to mess up the rivet. This was solved by tickling the rivet gun trigger to fatten the rivet and then driving it home.
