Brief Description:  Left Gear Leg Fairing Part 1

Today I cleaned up some lose ends starting with riveting the remaining platenuts on the forward panel skin. I ran out of K1100-6 and the came in the mail yesterday, so they went on today. I also wanted to start the next project which is the wheel fairings. They not only add beauty to the plane and reduce drag and add 12 mph to the cruise speed. I made the attach bracket for the wheel pants some time ago, but I never painted them for protection. I pulled out the AKZO epoxy two part primer and mixed up a batch and laid on two heavy coats for protection. They will take a lot of abuse overtime, so I think it is well worth the time. I also re-read the instructions in the manual for mounting the fairings and started cleaning up the glass parts and cutting out the pattern for the gear leg cover. These need to be mounted perfectly in line with the fuselage centerline or they can cause adverse drag and yaw to the plane.
