This is my approach to the oil door. I still have work to do, but I think it will work well. I had to cut out some to the cowl rib to take the offset hinge and then reinforced it with some fiberglass cloth and epoxy. Image 2 is the peel ply to remove extra epoxy, not the glass cloth. The hinge pin has a spring in it that will keep the door open when it is not latched. This is a safety feature, so you don't take off with the door open. More on this later as I finish working it.
