Continued building the rudder... • Final drilled each of the pre-punched holes in the forward edge of the rolled rudder skin to #30. • Deburred each hole • Using ABS-41 blind rivets, riveted the forward skin edges using a pneumatic puller. • Re-installed the counter weight balance on the top rib. • Installed the rod end bearings, initially set the distance per the call-out on Drawing 7 for the top, middle and bottom rod end bearings… these are 53/63, 57/64 and 67/64 from the face of the vertical spar to the middle of the rod end bearing where the AN3 bolt passes through. • Hung the rudder on the VS initially just by the top and bottom rod end bearings, very happy to find the top rib/counter weight balance skin clears the top of the VS as it should. --- this was the original issue that led me to decide to build a new rudder --- so great to know this has fixed this issue.
