Started to fit the VS on the fuse. It must be aligned vertically, and fore/aft in a straight line. Marked the center line on the fuse and aligned to the VS center line. There is a center hole pre-drilled on the VS rear spar where a #30 clecoe can be used to locate the VS on to the attach angle on the fuse aft deck. Drilled a #30 center hole in the VS attach angle on the aft deck. Clecoed the VS rear spar using the locating hole to the VS attach angle on the aft deck.
This gives a good starting place to adjust the VS to ensure it is centered and vertical.
Centered the VS fore and aft, and vertically – measuring the distance from equal points from the top of the VS to the HS. Laid a straight edge on the VS rear spar to ensure it is straight. Clamped the VS to ensure is remains in place.
