Brief Description:  Instrument Panel - Commit to Metal

This is pretty damn cool!! Jeremy has a CNC in his GARAGE!

Along with the panel cutting, Jeremy designed a pair of brackets for the radio stack (GTR 200, GPSMAP 496 and GMC 305). The brackets are made from 2024-T .025 aluminum sheet, with the holes for riveting to the panel back side, and for attaching the Airgizmo dock and GTR 200 radio tray.

Jeremy cut the panel in several steps.

• Secure the panel using existing holes.
• Located the zero-zero-zero point (x-y-z coordinate) for the CNC.
• Ran a file which located all of the #40 holes for the radio stack brackets, GDU 460, panel mount compass and Dynon D6.
• Swapped the bit to a cutting bit, and then ran the program to cut the panel openings.

It was truly amazing to watch, the CNC cut the panel as if it was paper. It probably took around 10 minutes to perform the cuts.
