Brief Description:  Rudder Investigation - Part 2

Disassembled the rest of the rudder except for the stiffeners. Drilled out the rivets in common with the rudder spar and bottom rid, without care since this rudder is trash.

Upon close inspection of the counter balance rib skin, found blue plastic under the rivets where the skin was NOT in common with the rudder skin. I can imagine all of the rivets are this way.

After drilling out the remaining rivets, I found the shop side of the rivets for the stiffeners to be very acceptable, and no evidence of blue plastic anywhere, whereas the shop side of the rivets for the counter balance skin was not so great.

It is interesting; it is almost as if two different folks built the rudder, the fist not so bad except the counter balance skin perhaps was not installed. It looks like it might have been installed after th fact by someone not knowing any better.

Again - this is going into the trash bin. $200 buys new rudder parts which is cheap compare to flying this rudder - lol
