Brief Description:  Avionics Received - Check Invoice/Actual

Today received from Stein Air the Garmin G3X Touch system I've decided to use in my RV8. Glad I waited until I really needed the avionics, as the Touch system is brand new, saw it at Sun-n-Fun this year and really liked what I saw.

Tw large boxes of really cool stuff, the GDU460 display, the GSU ADAHRS, the EIS system, and I chose the remote GTX20 transponder and GTR20 remote radio. I also went with the Garmin Roll and Pitch auto pilot servos; these are super lightweight and use a clutch, really nice system.

Also received the install kits for all of the hardware, ELT, antennas, wiring, and an assortment of tools for crimping, etc.

And something I was not familiar with, solder sleeves... if you really don't like soldering, check these out they take all of the fuss out of soldering for shield ground...

Went to the Garmin website and downloaded the 708 page PDF on installing the G3X Touch system... including connector pin-outs and interconnect diagrams... it also includes the RS-232 and CAN protocol packet definitions, which I find fascinating since I.T is my gig that pays for all this stuff...

Thank You to Stein at Stein Air for working with me to select the avionics I wanted and making sure I get all of the associated kits and tools... Also, they have some great YouTube vids that explain all kinds of things, from the proper use of tools to why solder sleeves are great!
