Brief Description:  Rudder pedal springs

Worked out the way the springs attach to the rudder pedals.

The kit came with these straps out of 0.050 steel that had several holes drilled for various cable attach points. After e-mailing with Mark Goldberg at AviPro, he said that the straps were intended to be used with the one hole by itself at one end of the strap mounted on the pedal, and the shackle on one of the other (5) holes at the other end for adjustment. Problem with this is that the shackles will only fit one hole - so I think it probably went the other way around, making the pedal adjustable with a given cable length. Some (including Bob Barrows) don't use turnbuckles in these cables. But I intend to use turnbuckles, so I am eliminating the strap adjusting method.

I modified the straps (cut them down to two holes) and used them as links for the springs on the same bolt as the shackle for the cable at the rudder pedals.

These springs are 1/2" x 2-1/2" x .063" wire dia. with closed ends, and have about a 25# pull at the position they will be in at neutral.
