Brief Description:  Ordered Brake System Parts

Reviewed the plans and builder's manuals, and made a list of brake system tubing parts for the fuselage.

I had to design the system for myself, since this is a very open area for builder customization. The master cylinder lengths, mounting and general sizes are specified in the plans - but whether you want dual brakes (pilot and co-pilot), the way you run the brake lines, where you place the reservoir, whether or not you want a hydraulic parking brake, and the selection of parts for all of this is up to the builder. I am going to have dual brakes, and I plan to mount the reservoir on the firewall. I also plan to use the Aeroquip 303 hoses at the calipers, the landing gear hinge point, and between the master cylinders and the hard lines on the fuselage. Jury's out on the parking brake - I'm planning to talk to others at Sun 'N' Fun in a couple weeks about this to get some ideas.

The parts list includes 1/4" 5052 aluminum tubing, AN fittings, cushioned tubing clamps and bolts, 1/4" rubber fuel line (Aeroquip 303) and end fittings (Aeroquip 491), Grove 670-2 master cylinders, and a Grove firewall-mounted reservoir.

Ordered the parts off this list.
