Brief Description:  John Hanson to the rescue

Today we had John Hanson from Marion, MT come down and help us with our painting. John years ago was part owner of what is now Stewart Systems. He use to teach classes on painting with the Stewart System.

He showed us a few tips on how to get our paint on properly. Correct spray settings on the paint gun, proper distance from the fabric, speed to move the gun and proper spray pattern were some of the suggestions.

We painted the bottom of the fuselage with 4 coats. First, with volume at 3/4 of a turn applied a tack coat and did a Horizontal pattern. Second coat, upped the volume an eighth of a turn and did a vertical coat. Third coat, upped the volume another eighth of a turn and did a horizontal coat. Fourth and final coat, a vertical pattern with the same volume as the third coat.

We are very happy with our finished product now and will move on the painting the other pieces.
