From scrap wood I made some custom storage boxes to fit in the shelf spaces. The remaining shelf spaces contain jars for small parts to fit.
To keep the jars and storage boxes from accidentally falling out, I attached a door system that doubles as a shelf when opened all the way. The shelf is held horizontally in place with a light-weight chain on each side.
The door system is designed so that only the top half can be opened if that's all you need, or completely opened as shown in the first picture.
