Brief Description:  Installed empennage

Clamped elevators in place and identified which elevator horn was more aft. MEasured distance between inside faces and made block to fit between them. Drilled pilot hole in aft horn and block. Attached block between horns and drilled hole into other horn. Rmoved block and drilled holes to full size. Clamped horizontal stabilizer to fuselage and measured for accuracy of positioning. Put 710C spacer in place as well as 798 shims and clamped 908 attached angles. Drilled holes in 908 angles, 798 shims, 710C spacer, and 710B angle. Temporarily bolted all together. Placed 11/32" drill between aft deck and rear spar of stabilizer. Drilled holes through 711B bars and rear spar. Checked F790 pushrod length between elevator and F635 bellcrank (previously installed when autopilot servo was installed.

Temporarily bolted F981 attache plate to forward spar of horizontal stabilizer. Trimmed VS-702 as indicated in drawings. Clamped rear spar of vert stab to F912 bulkhead at proper height. Drilled holes through spaer and F912D. Installed temporary bolts. Had to make shims to fit between F981 and VS-702, a total of .10". Drilled holes through F981, shims and VS-702.
