Brief Description:  Fiberglassed rear skirt

Prepared rear of canopy and fuselage to do fiberglassing of the rear skirt. Sanded and cleaned areas. Taped off a 5 1/2" area I want the fiberglass to go which I think will look pretty good. Used packaging tape to bridge the gap from the fuselage to the canopy, just barely attaching to the canopy by about an 1/8" so as not to encroach too much where I want the fiberglass to adhere to the rear of the canopy. Applied mold relase to the packaging tape and the fuselage. Used the metal doghouse piece but cut all of the flange off since I plan on removing the metal once the fiberglass doghouse is made. Applied first layer of fiberglass using two rows of 3" fiberglass tape. Pre-wet the tape on the workbench and applied to the canopy as the first row, and the second row went over the fuselage. Worked out okay but had to stiple in resin on the fiberglass which cause the packaging tape to sag a bit too much in some areas that will require filling. You can see the packaging tape thru the first layer of fiberglass.
