Brief Description:  Fiberglassed scoop, canopy latch, canopy skirts

Made final preparations to cowl scoop before fiberglassing. Cut back foam added foam block to approximate final distance between scoop and FAB. Roughed up scoop opening with sandpaper and then began to apply fiberglass. Layered in three separate pieces of fiberglass. Will add one final layer of peel ply at a later time. Did not use balloon to hold fiberglass in place as it seemed to be holding jsut fine. Did tip the cowl up on aft end so that scoop opening was perpendicular to the floor and fiberglass layers could fall away from foam if left parallel. Watched it over the next hour while I started some more canopy work. Looks better in real life than in the pictures.

Worked on final trimming of canopy latch now that the windscreen and roll bar are permanently installed. Assembled latch, works well.

Began work on canopy skirts. Since canopy is glued in I don't need the C-759 pieces. Therefore, I worked on the C-791's first. Trimmed length to fit and then cut 1 1/4" lightening holes using a fly cutter VERY carefully. Deburred holes and cut slots on lower end as indicated in plans. Marked out and drilled #40 holes in top flange. Quit for the day.
