Brief Description:  Assemble wheels & tires, plane on mains

The plane is on the mains! Started by separating the wheel halves for the mains. Used baby powder on the tubes and slipped them inside the tires. Put a little air in there and seated them with the proper valve stem orientation. Assembled the halves and torqued the wheel nuts to the bolts to 75 inch-pounds. Pumped up the tubes several times to seat the tires on the wheels. Final pressure is 31lbs. as indicated in Cleveland instruction. Split nose wheel halves and powdered up the tube and inserted into the tire. Aired up to seat in tire and then put the wheel halves together. Inspected with mirror to make sure tube wasn't pinched at all. Bolted halves together and torqued to 75 inch-pounds. Pumped up the tube several times til tire seated well on the wheel and final pressure the same as the mains. Reamed holes in U-403 brake mounting flange with reamers. Also reamed hole in gear leg. Cut 11/32" spacers. Assembled caliper mounting flange to brake flange and assembled on the gear legs. Messed up the orientations twice and re-did the assembly correctly. Changed around the fitting on one brake caliper as necessary to make a right and left. Installed the 822-4D fitting to the top of the brake caliper. Placed U-405 axel spacer on the left main leg and installed the wheel. Placed second U-405 spacer on outside and put VA-106 wheel nut on. Repeated procedure for right main. The plane is on its wheels, yea!!!
