Brief Description:  Elevator bell crank, pushrods

Fabricated F635B spacer for elevator bell crank. Clecoed F635 bell crank parts together along with VA-146 bearing. Drilled holes, disassembled and deburred all pieces. Clecoed parts together and began riveting. Once riveted I trial fitted bellcrank to fuselage. Fabricated spacers for mounting the bell crank. Temporary mounted bell crank with spare AN3 bolt.

Cut tubing to length for F790 elevator push rod. Assembled VA-101 rod ends onto tube and marked out holes. Drilled all rivet holes into assembled push rod. Removed rod ends and deburred all pieces. Reassembled and riveted in rod ends with MSP42 blind rivets. Screwed in and measured to plan length the M3616 rod end bearings with AN316-6 stop nuts.

Cut tubing to length for F989 elevator push rod. Assembled the AN490HT11P rod ends into tubing and marked holes fordrilling. Drilled out all holes. Removed rod ends and deburred all pieces. Reassembled and riveted rod ends into place. Screwed in F3514 rod end bearings with AN316-5 stop nuts and adjusted to plan length.

Temporarily attached F790 to F635 elevator bell crank. Placed autopilot servo in the spot I want to mount it and looked for interference with F790. Seeing none I spent some time planning the final configuration and determining what parts to order. Decided to use the same size servo to bellcrank push rods as the aileron bell crank to ailerons. Ordered tubing and miscellaneous aluminum from Aircraft Spruce and rod ends and bearings from Van's. A good day, things are getting clearer as to how to mount the servos.
