Brief Description: Fusleage Assembly - New Clamps and Alignment
I decided to make some new fuselage assembly clamps to replace the ones I made from thin wood strips. I wanted stiffer ones to keep the fuselage sides vertical and clamped against the vertical edges of the bulkheads. I used 1.25" x 1/8 inch thick aluminum angle stock to make the new clamps. I set up my laser level (with vertical plumb line). I clamped the fuselage together and starting getting it all squared up. I had marked center lines on all the bulkheads to use for reference marks. Made some final adjustments to allow the bulkheads to sit flush with the bottom edge of the fuselage sides.
Lots of fiddling but it is going together pretty nicely!
