Brief Description: Step Reinforcement and Micro Fill
I cut some very high density tooling foam I had to put in a reinforcment wedge that is placed where the plans boarding step install. The plans call for wood. The tooling board foam makes for a very stiff core material. I cut the foam on the table saw and pre-sanded it near contour before installing with medium wet micro after precoating the interfaces with pure resin. I took the left over wet micro added more micro and made it into dry micro to patch up the seat belt fitting screw pockets and a couple gouged area of the foam fuselage.
Ultimately I will probably skip installing the step all together, but I put the reinforcement in just in case. I ordered an electric EZ Noselift today which means I will be able to board the cockpit with the aircraft kneeled and then raise it up after I am in.
