Cut out 1/8" thick aluminum plates to install K1000-4 nutplates onto to receive the AN4H-16A bolts that will hold the brackets to the fuselage sides. I am building up these plates in lieu of using the large area washers and nuts that are the common practice. These nutplate plates will provide more surface area that the large area washers and all of the surface area will be bearing on the fuselage wood. I cut two different widths, 1.0 wide, and .875 wide to match the width of the wood peices. I used the brackets to mark the holes (transfer punch) then drilled for the bolt holes, then the nutplates, then countersunk for the nutplate rivets, then de-burred. I throught the eight plates in the tumbler for finishing. Tomorrow I will Alodine them and rivet the nutplates. I will add some pictures of the plates when they are done. I sanded the side that will be bonded to the longeron wood to enhance bonding
