Brief Description:  Firewall trimming

Used the fuselage sides to make a pattern for the upper longerons and LXY wood cutout for the firewall. I used thin stips of plywood to pattern around the wood projections from the fuselage side. I gluded the plywood strips together with hot melt glue. I checked the resulting pattern on both fuselage sides and was happy that it fit both well! I then placed teh plywood strip pattern in position on my router template for the upper fuselage and glued it in position. I then used a patten bit to cut the pattern into the router template. Now the template could be used to shape the upper portion of the firewall and the two upper holes for the upper longerons and LXY wood (use the router table and the pattern bit). After that was done I glued the lower router template in position and shaped the bottom of the fuselage on the router table. Tomorrow I will square up the fuselage wood cutouts (router bit leaves a radius of the bit) and fit them to the fuselage sides and mark and cut the lower longeron holes.
