Brief Description: Prepaired HS-404/405 Right side
I recieved the HS-404 replacement rib a few days ago. I was careful to cut the rib with a band saw just enough to clear the HS-810/814 bars. I center punched the two inside rivet holes on the flange to ensure edge distance which devaited from the plans (the plans say to center punch all the hole locations on the HS-405 flange using careful measurments, then drilling blind into the HS-404). I also center punched the two outer rivet locations on the HS-405 flange then drilled a #40 pilot hole at those locations. I makred the rivet holes, fluted and debured the edges and clamped the ribs in place with the right HS assembly.
I match-drilled all the skin rivet locations for the undrilled inbard forward spar, HS-405 and HS-404 ribs with a #40 bit.
I then match-drilled the #30 holes through the HS-404/405 ribs spar and HS-810/814 bars with an angle drill.
