I am awaiting my order of Stewart Systems primer so I thought I would try my hand at the Alodine process. I figured the non Alclad spreader/reinforcement bars would work.
I attempted to paint on the Alodine with a foam brush on the smaller HS-810/814 peices. I had mixed results. The parts turned out blotchy and I would have been better off soaking them in a tub versus painting it on.
The rubber gloves I had on started to melt so I stopped the experiment. I did not attempt to "paint" on the Alodine with the long reinforcement bars for the rear HS spar. I ended up using my rattle can primer over the Alodine on the HS-810/814 parts and will wait to prime the longer reinforcement bars.
I later researched the Alodine process and found some flaws in my approach. I did not etch and soaking in the Alodine gives better results. I may try again later in the build.
