Today I continued getting ready for the first engine start. I installed the oil filter then added safety wire.
As part of the engine pre-oil process it is recommended that the oil pressure line be disconnected and the engine is turned over until oil runs out of the line. Today I disconnected the line where it attaches to the oip pressure transducer then attached some aluminum tubing and routed this along side the fuselage. On engine start day after I remove the preservative oil and replace it with engine oil, I'll turn the engine over until I see oil run out of this tube. That will insure that prior to start the oil is circulated through the engine and that air is purged from the oil pressure line and good readings will be seen on the oil pressure guage.
