I made the final fit for the spinner. The forward bulkhead had a little bit of play within the spinner. To correct this I made a small 1 inch layup of epoxy inside the spinner where it meets the bulkhead, and installed the spinner onto the prop, over the waxed forward bulkhead. After the epoxy sets I will sand off any excess, and the spinner should fit snugly over both bulkheads. I made a trial fit of the upper cowl and drew a reference line 2 inches aft of the firewall, per the plans. This will be used to mark the cowl for the cut at the rear of the cowl. The plans call for a shim under the hinge to allow the cowl to sit flush with the fuselage. I will consider if I need this shim and how thick to make it. I then cut and drilled the upper cowl hinge to the forward fuselage and clecoed in place.
