I installed the empennage fairings to check for the final fit. A few of the holes in the aluminum skin needed to be cleaned up to allow the screws to easily align with the nut plates. I also trimmed the rubber channel that is installed between the lower aluminum fairing and the underside of the horizontal stabilizer. The trim job I had done earlier is a little sloppy so I ordered another from Van and will redo the trimming.
The screw holes on the fiberglass upper fairing also needed some slight cleaning of the bevel for flush screws.
These fairings are now done (except for the rubber channel) and ready to install. I'm leaving them off for now as I want to have some other builders over to look at everything before I start covering things up.
