I wanted to have the capability of recharging the battery in the aircraft when sitting in the hangar for extended non-flying periods. The "Battery Tender Jr" is a charger that will charge the battery to a full charge, then maintain a trickle charge. The device includes a connector that can be attached to the battery studs, and wiring that runs to a quick change plug which can then be attached near the oil dipstick. This allows me to connect the charger through the oil door in the cowling. A simple device and now an easy way to keep the battery topped off while in the hangar.
I attached the connectors to the battery posts and ran the wiring up to the engine mount and used plastic ties to secure the plug next to the oil dip stick where I will habe easy access through the oil door.
