A had noticed a small amount of slop in the control stick movement and discovered that the bolt in the control bushing had excess movement. I had drilled the bushings out to 1/4" for the bolt and apparently this resulted in the play. I ordered new bushings and bolts for the aileron and elevator controls and used a 1/4" reamer to enlarge the bushing to the proper dimensions. This resulted in a much nicer fit and no excess play. I lubed the bushings with wheel bearing grease and reinstalled.
