I installed the 13 ribs on the left wing. These were equally spaced between the end boxes. This put them at 11 15/32" on center. I started with the middle rib (no. 7) and accurately positioned it, fastened with clecos and installed just the top 1/8x1/8 ss rivet. I then removed this rib/gusset combo and installed it at the rib 1 position. Now I was able to quickly and accruately duplicate each rib/gusset combination at position 7 (sort of a wing jig) and repeat. This way they were close to identical. The proof? When finished I strung a line and high points were dead on all the way across.
This is Mike Harrison's method and, yet again, it made for an easy and accurate build.
