Brief Description: Dissassembled Clecoed Elevator and Riveted Trim Co
Today, I marked, drilled, deburred, and riveted the trim cable brackets to the cover plate. I used ones fabricated from a third party instead of what Van's supplies. These parts are much better, and I believe that Van's has started sending out replacements because they discovered the weld on their part was not strong enough. I also decided to us AN rivets to attach the bracket to the cover instead of the blind rivets called for in the plan. It was so easy to get to and I didn't see the rationale behind using a blind rivet. I think it looks better on the outside also. Just four universal rivet head are seen instead of a blind rivet. I also had to dissassemble all the parts to the elevators and mark them so they go back together properly. That took most of the time.
