I have been slowly working on the rear spar of the horizontal stabilizer. Yes I screwed it up a little. I was supposed to match drill the rear spar to the rear spar doubler (which is a thick piece of aluminium). I guess I had some side pressure while drilling so the drill hole is crooked and not lined up with the hole in the rear spar. I called Van's and they said that it is no big deal because eventually I will drill it to a larger size. My concern is that it will be difficult to get a straight hole through the crooked one that is now there, plus I am pushing the limit on the size of the hole for an AN-3 bolt. This does hold the stabilizer to the airframe, so I think it is important that it is structrually sound. I may end up drilling the hole out to an AN-4 size (1/4"). No picture of the screw-up to protect the guilty.
