Brief Description: Riveted Sub-assemblies and Stiffeners
Yesterday we finished priming the interior components of the rudder. Then we riveted doublers and nutplates to the rudder spar. We wrapped up riveting the the two ribs together along with the rudder control horn to the bottom rib. Today we back-riveted all the stiffeners to the skin, the two ribs to skin and finished off by blind-riveting the shear clips to the right side stiffeners. The photograph shows the skin interior with the stiffeners riveted in. You will notice the minimal use of primer. As I mentioned in the last post, I am only going to prime where two pieces meet.
