Brief Description:  Finished Elevators

After months of working off and on on these things, I finally finished the elevators. Everything went pretty good. Ellen helped me hold the hinge to elevator to match-drill all the holes. She also helped me hold the hinge to the trim tab. As opposed to the elevators which seemed to puff up where the foam ribs are, the trim tabs seem to dent downward. It is only noticeable if you really look and I think after a coat of primer and a little sanding, it will be undetectable. The only "flaw" that I noticed when completing the right elevator was that the trim tab did not line up exactly to the elevator trailing edge, but only by a 1/16" or so. The left one was spot on. I guess I paid too much attention on lining up the edge of the hinges instead of taking a minute to look at the trailing edge part. Anyway, I am glad they are done, it seemed to take forever. I am going to work on the tailcone much more diligently.
