Brief Description: Cutting and Bending the Right Leading Edge Skin
Today I riveted the nose ribs, cut the leading edge skin and bent it using the vacuum technique again. This time around I was able to cut down the work time considerably since I used the same plastic as on the left wing. I have to give credit to my wife since she suggested that I just cut through the bottom edge of the plastic ... this way I could slide the hole leading edge out and still be able to re-use the plastic for the right wing. Things went smooth until the point that I saw a couple of kinks close to the outboard tip. Once we took the plastic off, I realized what had caused this. ... word of advise....always check for missing tools before closing the patient! ...Yes .. I had left the measuring tape inside. Well after a couple of #@$!%^$! I used a spoon to try and remove the kinks as best as I could. It's amazing what a spoon can do for you in these situations!
