Brief Description: 2.- Bending the Leading Edge Skin
Once the opposite ends were touching and were nicely aligned, we then wrapped the skin with the plastic. I ended folding the plastic in half and then wrapped it around. Then we sealed the edges of the plastic with duct tape. Then we attached a vacuum cleaner on one end and a shop vac on the other end, sealing both with more duct tape. Then we proceeded with a countdown.... 3...2....1 and to our amazement. It worked like magic ! It is amazing what one standard atomspheric pressure can do. I can remember how hard it was to bend the rudder skin.... this was so elegant !
