Removed rear window. Opened up rear window holes on cabin rollbar and countersunk holes. Countersunk rear window holes where attach to skin. Opened up rear window holes in skin and dimpled for screws. Cut reinforcing bands for back of rear window under skin. Drilled out these holes and deburred. Marked the rivet holes in the side skirts ready for match drilling. Cut out the forward ball stud mounds for canopy struts. Also cut out the aft ball stud mounts and drilled and countersunk. Tapped and primed ball stud componenets. Match drilled forward stud mounts to frame. Cut holes in fuselage side rails for rear stud mounts. Drilled and tapped a small block of aluminum as a backing plate for the rear stud mounts to replace the hard to manage washers and nuts. Mounted forward and rear ball stud mounts and attached struts. Checked canopy for movement. Works OK! Drilled out rear canopy latch catches and adjusted holes for proper closing of canopy latch.
