Brief Description:  Inventory Kit

Well today instead of starting on the practice project, I decided to go ahead and get the empennage kit inventoried, so if I was missing something, I could find out within the 30 days that Vans gives you. Everything was well packed and marked, and I used the "pick list" to inventory and simultaneously organized the parts by section - i.e. horizontal stab and elevator parts together and vertical stab and rudder together. Had three parts that did not match the part number exactly - a rudder spar should have been 802PP and I had 902 - and two others 810 and 814 that I had 710 and 714. I thought the parts might be okay, that maybe the RV9 and RV7 shared some same parts with the RV8. But when I called Vans they advised that I definitely needed the 810 and 814 and would have to check on the 902 to see if I could use that or not. While I was doing the inventory, Rod came over and checked out my workshop and gave me some great ideas on riveting and some other tools I might need.
