Brief Description:  Completed the Left Landing Light Installation

Decided to finish up the landing light installation. The mounting brackets had already been primed so I screwed them to include the light itself into the wing as shown in photo #1. Then it was time to trim and fit the plexiglass cover. First I trimmed down the plexi using my grinder (worked like a champ) then fine sanded to get a smooth edge. Unfortunately, I did not trim it down enough and it was too large still to fit thru the hole as it has to be installed thru the cutout in the leading edge. So I trimmed it down some more and finally it fit in the hole. Then using some strapping tape as the installation directions stated (Photo #2) I was able to pull up the lens cover to drill the holes and then insert clecos. Then I prepped the plate nuts by riveting them to the two reinforcement bars and then primed those bars and then using the two sided tape, put them on the lens cover itself as seen in photo #3. See next entry for completed picture.
