Brief Description:  Left Fuel Tank Seal

After sealing the fuel cap, I moved on the interior ribs. I tried the first few by myself, but wasn't working very well trying to shoot and buck the rivets by myself, so I called out my expert assistant, Glenda. She quickly caught on and we got in a rythym before you know it. Did two of the interior ribs, then stopped, and while she went back to her yard work, I cleaned up the mess from the first batch of sealer. This sealling stuff is really messy. I first cleaned up the tank itself wiping out the mess inside then outside, then I cleaned up the tools. Next I mixed up another batch of sealer and Glenda came back and we did the next three interior ribs. Again it was messy but overall it went pretty well. We had a couple rivets which weren't perfect but they were satisfactory. I probably went overboard but I put a lot of sealer over the top of all the rivets and sealed up all the edges. Photo #1 shows the most inboard bay (upside down) - note I have the trap door taped up out of the way so it does not get stuck in the sealer. I think I got the sealer smoothed out under the trap door sufficiently so it will not interfere with the trap door. Photo # shows one of the other interior bays after a lot (and I mean a lot of cleaning up the sealer. With any luck tomorrow I will get both the inboard and outboard ribs sealed and riveted in place, finish up the vent line and the fuel level capacitance system and be ready to seal up the tank completely with the tank baffle. If not, will finish up Monday and the tank can cure while I am at work next week and I can do the leak check upon my return (hopefully that goes well - noted that there are no comments in the plans about what to do if the tank leaks) maybe I won;t have to worry about that anyway. I hope.
