Brief Description:  Seal Left Fuel Tank (Continued)

Well I thought today I would get the left tank mostly sealed up. I had a few more minor things to do before starting, so I first fabricated a strip of metal and riveted it to the interior tank ribs that will keep the flop tube from getting stuck in the tank (or thats the idea according to the plans). I also fabricated small doors to go in each tank but am waiting for some piano hinge to complete that installation (Hinge expected in mail tomorrow). I still have to back rivet the fuel cap in place before I am ready to rivet the ribs but plan to move from one to the other with the same batch of sealer so I was preparing when I realized that my clecos will not hold the skin to the ribs any more. Evidently when I dimpled them I did it a little too aggressively - now I have a problem. I looked it up on Van's Air Force web page to see if I could find any references and sure enough there it was. Based upon what I read I ordered some new clecos (Wedgeloc clecos) from Cleaveland (0vernite mail of course $$$$) and hopefully they will catch. So anyway I decided to stop for the day.
