Brief Description:  Fuel Tank Attachment Angles and Rear Tank Baffle

Started on the fuel tanks today. First order of business is prepping the 14 tanks attachment angles. Have to mark a centerline and then centerpoint on both flanges of all and then drill a 1/8 inch hole in one flange of each and a #12 in the other flange of 12 of them. Then they are cleco'd to the underside of the main spar and the remaining holes are drilled to #12. They are then removed and three platenuts are riveted to each of 12 of the angles. This took some time. Then they are bolted to the topside of the main spar and the tank baffle is cleco'd to the attaching angles then the seventh attaching angle on each wing is slid into place and the remaining holes are drilled thru the angle (#12). Finally three additional nutplates are riveted in place on the main spar to attach the seventh angle on each wing. Photo #1 shows two of the angles prior to drilling them out. Photo #2 shows the tank baffle (the blue piece) cleco'd to the attaching angles. The seventh angle (the silver piece under the baffle) has not yet been drilled out. Finally all the angles are attached with An-3 bolts. Thats it for the day.
