Brief Description: Mount Elevators to Horizontal Stab
With the elevators mostly complete it came time to mount to HS and ensure freedom of movement. Unfortunately, the counterbalance arm is blocked on both right and left sides by the flange on the end of the HS. I was initially concerned that I messed something up and that was why it didn't fit, but after reviewing the plans I was fairly confident I had not done so. So I checked on line some other RV8 web sites to see if anybody else had an issue and apparently trimming this flange is required (although there is nothing noted in the plans). So I marked what needs to be trimmed and will work on that tomorrow. Just about done with empennage. Will be a great feeling to complete the first kit.
