Brief Description:  Assembling the Skeleton and Hit a Roadblock

The innards of the rudder are riveted together for some match drilling. While I was doing this I noticed that there were no holes for the small stiffener clips. I went over to the scrap rudder and not only was I missing fastener holes, but I was also missing all of the lightening holes in the spar.

I called Vans the next day and it was determined that when I bought my replacement rudder parts three years ago they sent me a rudder spar from a different model. They checked stock while I was on the phone and there were lots of the correct spar in the warehouse. It will be sent to me free of charge due to the mix up. It was strange because dimensionally it's the same. It's just missing the prepunched holes.

I was planning on priming the rudder parts this weekend, but can't do that now. I'll concentrate on finishing the elevator.
