Brief Description:  Deburr rudder parts

I need to get a longer angle extrusion for the elevator trailing edge. The extrusion I got was 48 inches, but the TE on the right side is over 50 inches long. I want some overhang so I'll need to find a longer piece. I think 48 inches was the longest at Home Depot, so I might have to go to a metal supply house to get what I need.

In the meantime I decided to start in on the second build of the rudder. All of the rudder parts except the skins were cut, trimmed and deburred. The front spar, reinforcement plates, shim, rudder horn and bottom rib was cleko'ed together and match drilled. The reinforcement plates were marked for orientation so they can be reassembled exactly as drilled. The instructions also called for some dimpling at this stage, but I'm deferring that until after I prime.

I trimmed off the tab on the top of the right skin and started deburring, but didn't get too far. Deburring is tedious and I'd had enough for one day.

Things are moving much faster now partly because I've developed confidence with my abilities and partly because I've already built a rudder. It took me 60 hours to build the first one. I'm hoping to cut about 15 hours off of that time on this rebuild.

All of the rudder parts are deburred. You can see the elevator trim tab still clamped to the table.
