I'm set to go up to Aurora, OR to tour the Van's factory in a couple of weeks and get my "free" demo flight in the RV-14A. I'll purchase the empennage kit while I'm there too.

Until then, I have a bunch of little things to do. In no particular order they are:

1. Set up an air drying system for my compressed air so I can shoot primer on the parts.
2. Get some small parts organizing drawers.
3. Call Van's to see if I can get a complete BOM or parts list so I can label everything before the empennage kit arrives.
4. Install carpet on the workbenches
5. Rig up a chip collector on my moble power tools bench.
6. Get an electrician to install a new circuit and outlets in the garage.
7. Build a paint booth that can be set up and broken down and stored when not in use (space is at a premium).
8. Fix my main workbench. It was delivered with 1/4 in. cracks in the table top. Just crappy workmanship. It's easier to fix than hassle with the guy who built it. Minwax should do the trick.
9. Organize the aircraft tools. They're still sitting on my living room table.
10. Build a support table for the DRDT-2 dimpler.

This weekend I accomplished items 4 and 5. I got a Rigid model WD45500 4.5 gal pro pack wet/dry vac for the mobile bench. I cut a 3 in. hole in the table to run the hose to the two tools that need it (sander and band saw). I realized I need another electrical outlet eventually though. I've got five machines and only four outlets.

I went to the local carpet store and paid about $66 for some commercial carpet. I've very pleased with the results. I may cut out a spot for my back bucking plate in one of the tables. The carpet thickness and plate thickness are almost, but not quite, the same. Close enough.
