Brief Description: Substantial completion of horizontal stabilizer
Two things today. The horizontal stabilizer was substantially completed. Any required drilling was done, deburred, ribs painted, skins riveted, etc... The tip caps were the harder part, getting them to line up straight being the main issue. A square was used to get them perpendicular to the rear spar and then the plastic was marked along with a couple holes to start the drilling. They were left clecoed, so I can order some of the A4 sized "banana peel" rivets to rivet it on. When the elevator is fitted, the plastic towards the trailing edge will also need to be filed down so it doesn't catch. Along with that, the elevator was fully assembled to check everything for fit, and get any parts drilled out that needed it.
