Brief Description: Bonding the horizontal stabilizer
Horizontal stabilizer was fitted into tail section, and aligned as required to the bonding fixture. Once this was complete, reference lines were made to help realign properly once adhesive is applied to bonding surfaces. Also, vertical web was fitted to the rest of assembly at this point. Opening was made in the bottom of the web to the scribed reference lines. Holes for clecos were drilled thru the side of the web and tail skin that will hold it in alignment during bonding.
From here, all bonding surfaces were sanded and cleaned with acetone. Mixture of Jeffco resin and flox was used for bonding with all surfaces being wetted with resin first. Once all pieces were assembled, excess material has been cleaned up.
