Brief Description: Installing Trunion & Setting Gear Leg Angle
Locate trunion as lower as posible to main spar. No more then a tonque depressor. This process involves setting of the landing gear leg angle. Drilling of mounting holes can only be done upon confirmation of the 50 degrees of the gear leg. You obtain the gear leg angle reading by using a smart level held onto the outter surface of the gear leg, located in the alignment of the pitch of the gear leg. Once proper gear leg angle limits have been confirm the drilling of mounting hole can be performed. You start by drill a single hole and rechecking gear leg angle reading. Remaining holes can be drilled if gear leg angle limits are maintained. Drilling of mounting holes must be performed perpendicular to the spar web angle, allow bolts/screw to sit in proper position and counter sink to be performed correctly. You must use a 90 degree drill motor to perform counter sink operation. Drilling of the bolt holes is perform from the aft side of the spar.
